Porterville Annual Children’s Christmas Parade
December 1st (Thursday evening) 7:00pm
All dancers ages 6 and up are invited to dance in the Porterville Christmas parade with Deenie’s Dance Workshop. The dance we are performing is called “Joy to the World,” as our community theme is Christmas around the world. Dancers who would like to perform will need to come dressed in a costume representing a different country. We would like to have a strong variety, so we will be asking you to sign up listing your costume choice. If there are too many of one type we may ask someone to choose a different costume. The dance routine will be simple and each class will learn the routine during regular class time. They can wear light weight shoes that match their costume for the parade.
We will be having a Saturday practice at Veterans Park.
November 19th 1:00pm –meet at the helicopter
(if it’s raining we will meet at the studio)
You must be able to attend the practice in order to be a part of the parade as we will be setting up our parade line positions.
We will do the same routine for our winter recital on December 17th at 4:00 pm.
The dancers will be in the second half. They must be in a costume from around the world, and wearing ballet or tan jazz shoes.
The rehearsal will be at 10:00am at the auditorium on the 17th.
You must participate in the rehearsal to perform at the recital that afternoon.
Watch for our Christmas routine “Joy to the World” in your dancer’s class!
